News of Note--Global Internet Television Consortium

Not exactly a legitimate blog entry--but an announcement and redirection.

For the last year, Ramon Lobato and I have been developing the Global Internet Television Consortium. The GITV Consortium collects media scholars from around the globe to develop and share research about the various forms internet-distributed television is taking in particular locations. The GITV Consortium's website has published 13 dossiers about Netflix's arrival to different countries, with five more dossiers expected by the end of the year. The site also features a monthly news digest of key developments and a repository of resources. In 2018, the GITV Consortium will add dossiers on other services, continue to expand and update its coverage, and develop topic based publications. Please share the site with student researchers and join our newsletter for updates. If you are interested in contributing a dossier or becoming involved in the GITV Consortium, please contact Ramon Lobato (ramon.lobato@rmit.edu.au) and me (drtvlotz@gmail.com).

I'll aggregate recent news related to internet-distributed television with a bit of commentary each month. October's issue is available here.
