Amanda Lotz presents A to Z Media Insights

A to Z Media Insights: the site
A to Z Media Insights collects the writing and thinking of Amanda Lotz. It spans an archive of links to two decades of writing and talks about media industries and digital change as well as email newsletters about new content when it's available.
Amanda D. Lotz is a media scholar, author, and consultant who has been exploring how digital technologies have changed how media industries operate, what they make, and their role in culture for more than two decades. Based at Queensland University of Technology where she leads the Transforming Media Industries and Cultures research program in the internationally regarded Digital Media Research Centre, her research focuses on understanding the implications of internet distribution for media industries and society. She is the author, coauthor, or editor of fourteen books that explore television and media industries and relocated to Australia in 2019 after a long career at the University of Michigan to better investigate the changing global dynamics of the screen industry. She has consulted and provided thought leadership and strategy guidance about digital change in media industries for business and government for more than a decade.
Her most recent books explore the connections between internet-distributed services such as Netflix and the legacy television/film industries, as well as the business strategies and revenue models that differ. Her books, including the award-winning, The Television Will Be Revolutionized, have been translated into 6 languages and she has delivered dozens of keynotes and invited talks in 12 countries over the last decade. She’s regularly interviewed by leading journalistic outlets from around the globe, hosted the Media Business Matters podcast from 2016 to 2020, and can be found opining on LinkedIn (adlotz), and Blue Sky (@DrTVLotz).
Paid content
Media 2025 is an experiment with a mini book/limited newsletter. It offers 11 posts (nearly 20,000 words). Media 2025 provides state-of-the-moment thinking for paid subscribers. Your paid subscription supports my work translating media research insights for the sector. Thank you!
Let's try this for now – I'm curious if there is interest in talks, briefing sessions (live, recorded; audio, video), short talks, a monthly roundup, or chats. I'm trying to work with a platform that isn't exactly optimized for what I want to do with it so we may hit some bumps while I work out what is possible in this world.
